What is the difference between an intelligent person and a wise person?
Let me illustrate it with a story.
Intelligent Person Scenario:
David came back home late. He did not inform his wife that he will arrive late today. He did not answer her calls. He didn’t reply to her messages. He was busy.
She was worried at first. Later it turned into anger.
He knew how to make her cool down. He listened to all her rants. She cooled down eventually.
But he was exhausted now. Workload and then this ranting of his wife made his mood off. A depressing day indeed.
Wise Person Scenario:
Daniel knew that he will arrive late today. He texted his wife to inform her. It just took 30 seconds to type, “Hey sweet, I will be late today.”
When he returned home after the exhausting work, his wife’s smile was enough to refresh him.
Daniel had an exhausting day but a refreshing end.
David solved the problem. He is intelligent.
Daniel avoided the problem. He is wise.
Result:
The difference is,
An intelligent person knows how to solve any problem.
A wise person knows how to avoid that problem.
Knowledge makes a person intelligent.
Experience makes a person wise.
